This photo was taken at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, a memorial to commemorate the victims of lynching in the United States located in Montgomery AL and created by the Equal Justice Initiative. I used this photo for my challenge group topic Lone Tree. Each of the blocks on the ground and hanging under the structure contain the names of one or more persons who were lynched. Each block represents a county. This was a disturbing and powerful exhibit to view. I definitely would recommend it along with the companion Legacy Museum located on another site about a mile away.
