017-Elipse
Unlike many photographers, I stayed home for the eclipse. In a fairly last minute decision, I bought a solar filter for my camera and the special glasses to be able to look at the sun during the eclipse. In the Philadelphia area we experienced about 90% coverage but during the time of most coverage we had considerable cloud coverage. This photo was taken at 3:45pm. The event here went from 2:08pm to 4:35pm with the highest coverage at 3:23pm. Photographers who planned and took this serious have more impressive images to show for it but I thought a photo of the eclipse should be included in my Top 100, not because it was one of my best or favorite photos, but as a reminder of the experience.
